Storage Management

The Collection Centre stores the Swiss National Museum's objects in accordance with the principles of preventive conservation. They are subject to regular inspection. New arrivals are assigned an inventory number and a bar code, are digitally photographed and integrated into the collections.

Location details are permanently entered in an electronic database, which allows the Object Centre to retrieve any object for the purpose of exhibiting or lending it, or subjecting it to scientific examination.
