The Precious Metals Collections
Silver double goblet: terrestrial globe with celestial counterpart. A. Gessner, Zurich, 1600–1610.
The collection
comprehensively documents Swiss silver production for secular and ecclesiastic
use, from the Middle Ages to the present, and is almost entirely accessible.
Its aim is to represent as many Swiss silversmiths as possible, and is thus
added to strategically. It also focuses on production of the past 50 years,
including the new materials that have taken the place of silver.
