The Seal Collection
Grant of arms to Generalfeldmarschall H. Bürkli, with imperial seal, 11 December 1699.
The museum owns
Switzerland’s leading collection of seals, one of the largest in Europe. Thanks to its clear, systematic structure, it is also user friendly and
easily accessible. The collection contains some 80,000 objects, comprising
original seals, lacquer imprints and plaster casts, as well as around 800
stamps (or signets) made of a variety of materials.
